Purpose
Why the Review stage exists
The Review stage answers whether the system on paper is the system in the building. Our nursing team observes practice, samples records and talks with staff to test whether readiness holds up on an ordinary day.
What you can expect
How this stage runs
- A leadership opening conference before any observation begins
- Classroom and health office observation across the agreed scope
- Documentation sampling rather than a full file audit, unless full review is contracted
- Respectful conversations with staff, framed as learning rather than testing
- Minimal disruption to classroom routine and no involvement of children in the review itself
Our role
What our nursing team does
- Check emergency medication accessibility in the places it would actually be needed
- Sample administration logs, provider plans, consents and training records
- Ask staff practical questions to test working knowledge rather than recall
- Observe infection prevention, emergency planning and transition practice as scoped
- Note documented strengths, not only concerns
What we need from you
- Access to the agreed sites during operating hours
- Health documentation for the sampled classrooms
- Training and competency records
- A staff point of contact for the review day
What you receive
- Field observations organized by review area
- A preliminary risk picture prepared for the debrief
- A list of items requiring clarification from leadership
Moving forward
How this connects to the next stage
Everything observed here is discussed with leadership before it is written. There are no surprises in the report.
