Training and validation

Staff Training & Competency

Training that ends in validated skill, not a sign-in sheet.

Overview

Attendance is not competency. Every TamiaJoy's training session ends in return demonstration, where each staff member performs the skill and a registered nurse validates it. Training topics are set within an agreed scope, aligned to the children actually enrolled in your program.

What's included

  • Medication administration
  • Asthma inhaler and spacer use
  • Nebulizer support
  • Epinephrine auto-injector administration
  • Seizure rescue medication, including prescribed rectal or nasal rescue medication
  • Other child-specific emergency health skills within agreed scope
  • Return demonstration and competency validation for every participant

Best for

Programs with children who have emergency medication orders, programs closing competency findings, and organizations building an annual training calendar.

Deliverables

  • Training roster with attendance and completion dates
  • Individual competency validation records
  • Certificates for validated staff
  • Follow-up list for staff needing a second demonstration
  • Recommended re-validation schedule

Outcome

Documented, validated staff skill you can point to when someone asks who is trained and how you know.
